THE BLOG HAS MOVED!

BUYACREDITBLOG.COM is no longer active. The new blog for the BUYACREDIT.COM project is at www.buyacredit.com/blog.

See you there!

30 Dec 2009

Just to let you know what's going on...

Well, we're nearly at the end of 2009. It has been a great year. The project has come so far since January. We've been featured on ITV News, BBC Breakfast, This Morning, Channel Five News, CNN International and we've been in The Telegraph, The Guardian, The Independent and The London Evening Standard. We didn't think we'd ever get that kind of exposure! We've refined the script, produced a short film starring some of TV's biggest names and we've become friends with STEPHEN FRY! What more could we ask for? So much has happened...but there is still so much more to happen! From January we're completely focused on the feature film. We're going to be approaching actors and production companies to get the film out there and give it the best chance possible. BUYACREDIT.COM is also taking another leap in the New Year with some exciting new prospects. There is even a chance that we could be in America promoting it! eeekk!

The reason it's been all quiet for a while is down to a few things. Firstly, we've been slowing down over Christmas. We didn't want to, but all the people we have been in contact with went away, so everything went inevitably quiet. Secondly, and I suppose this is the main reason; we've been concentrating on making a BRAND NEW BUYACREDIT.COM site. We decided that the current website was getting a bit boring and needed refreshing...so we thought we'd make a brand new site for 2010. Here is a little snapshot of what the new front page will look like:

The new site is going to be so much better...in so many ways! Firstly, it will be an awful lot easier for us to update; so expect a much more dynamic site. I will be able to blog every day with ease and we'll also be doing Video blogs (or Vlogs) for those of you who prefer to watch rather than read! The new site will also be a lot more interactive and so much easier to use. Overall, it is going to be a massive step-up from the current setup, with coincides perfectly with the step-up the project will be taking at the beginning of the year.

You can expect the new site very soon (within the first working week of January) so keep checking back for a brand new BUYACREDIT.COM.

Until then, HAPPY NEW YEAR and all the best for 2010!

JAM Short Film

Here is JAM, our short promo film which we aired on Youtube last week. It's had a great response so far and we're really happy that people are enjoying it.

When we put it up, Phillip Schofield tweeted: "Schofe
It's online! the JAM mini movie shot by the buyacredit.com boys is now on YouTube http://tinyurl.com/yetwwlrwatch, enjoy and pass it on!"

and Stephen Fry did also: "stephenfry
Yay, that @BuyaCredit short film "Jam" I'm in is up. RT if you you like it. http://tinyurl.com/yetwwlr"

I still have to pinch myself when I think that we have their full backing and that we know them! Eek!

I must apologize for the ridiculous lack of blog posts lately. Our brand new site, which I've been working on for weeks is nearly finished. Everything but the first page you see (www.buyacredit.com) is being replaced with a brand new, more simple, easier website. It'll also be easier for us to update so things will be changing regularly. So probably, when you check back here in a day or two, you will be redirected to the new blog.

We're looking forward to getting it all online.

Meanwhile, we're going full steam ahead on the development of "Clovis Dardentor". We've just found a production office in London which we'll be moving into at the start of next year! Woohoo!

29 Nov 2009

Now you can buy a credit by text!

Channel Five News Feature

Later on in the day we were featured on Channel 5 News. I've managed to get a clip of it. Have a look...

This Morning Interview

The other day we were on ITV's "This Morning" talking about the project and our short film, "JAM". It was great fun. Have a look at the clip of the interview here!

JAM PREMIERE SCREENING

I've just come back from the premiere screening of our short promotional featurette "JAM". The screening was a great success and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Amongst those were Lynda Bellingham, Frank Skinner and Stephen Fry, who tweeted afterwards: "Jam is a triumph. V v funny and perfectly put together by those clever http://BuyaCredit.com boys."

JAM will be available online next week. Until then, please support the project and help get "Clovis Dardentor" made by becoming a movie producer and buying a credit!

The website is getting a brand new lick of paint, so by Thursday next week, you'll see a revamped version of everything!

Thanks to everyone who helped make JAM possible. Now its time to start working on the feature. Firstly though, I think I might go to bed.

31 Oct 2009

Now there's an easier way of becoming a producer!

We have a brand new method of payment, which should make it easier for people to buy credits! All you have to do is to follow the intructions above!

It costs £1.50 because it's a premium service, and we lose about 70p to network providers. If you don't feel like using the text option, our normal payment system is still there. Within the next week we are planning to expand the payment system even more to accept credit cards, cheques and phone payments outside of Paypal.

JAM Halloween themed trailer!

"JAM" is a promotional featurette for BUYACREDIT.COM, and the movie "Clovis Dardentor". It is a short story involving characters from the feature (Mr Eustache, Mrs Desirandelle.)

"JAM" stars Annette Badland, Lynda Bellingham, Paul Daniels, Stephen Fry, Patricia Hodge, Debbie McGee, Gary Rhodes, Phillip Schofield and Frank Skinner.

"JAM" will be available online mid-November. For now though, enjoy the trailer!

JAM Trailer - Halloween!

Well, this is probably the latest blog post I have ever done. Or the earliest. It is 4 o' clock in the morning and I'm just uploading the trailer for JAM for all of you to see! Above is a snapshot of Stephen Fry in the trailer.

In the spirit of Halloween, we've mocked up JAM to make it look a bit scarier than it actually is. In fact, it is not scary at all. But we're seasonal :)

At the moment we're just finishing off the grading for JAM and are expecting a mid November release...so watch this space!

The trailer will be on Youtube and on here later. Watch out for it and enjoy!

Stephen Fry JAM Shoot...

On Tuesday we were in Soho to film Stephen Fry's segment for JAM. The 16mm Cafe in Soho very kindly let us use their basement for the filming, which was a great help. Thanks guys!

Anyway, we all got there and before we knew it, Stephen showed up. It was great to finally meet him, but seemed odd that we hadn't already. He's been a big supporter of the project for quite a while now, so he was keen to hear how everything had progressed. Before long, we got to work and the filming was done in just over 1/2 hour. Before he had to dash off to a meeting, he very kindly signed a couple of the Jam Jars and had some pictures taken with us.

Hope you enjoy the photos of the Stephen Fry shoot taken by Gaz de Vere. © de Vere Photography 2009.

JAM JAM JAM

Wow. Such a long time since my last update. At the moment we're just pushing through with the short film. The rough edit will be done next week when scoring will begin. We have a post-production house lined up, so things look hopeful for an early release! Very soon you will get to see the JAM teaser trailer that we have been working on for the past few days.

Next week should be very exciting. We have quite a few high profile interviews to do, which we are slotting in with our busy short film schedule!

I'd just like to say WELL DONE to Lynda Bellingham for her hard work in "Strictly Come Dancing". She got voted off this weekend, and sent a text saying "It's such a relief to be free!"

Anyway, I will keep you all updated. You may have noticed the new Twitter feed at the top of this page. This is because all news will be revealed there first (I have Twitter on my phone, which allows me to provide real-time updates.)

Night!

JAM Editing...

Hello everyone! Just a quick update. We've now got an editor for JAM. His name is Kelly King, and we're very excited to be working with him.

At the moment he's syncing up all the sound to the footage, which I imagine is a long and laborious job. On Wednesday we're going to go and watch everything with sound to select the best takes of each shot. Kelly will then begin cutting it all together; a process which he reckons will take around 5 days. Once that's done, we'll be spending some time fine-tuning the rough cut. After that process is complete, we will be sending off the rough cut to a music company who have offered to score the short. Once that's done, we'll go into ONLINE editing, which is where all the polish happens. It'll be graded, special effects with be put on, the titles will be created etc. etc. Meanwhile, Gerard will be making sure everything SOUNDS perfect. Once that is done, it's simply a case of slapping the audio and visuals together and we have a film. We are hoping that we'll be able to premiere JAM at the end of October/beginning of November.

If you're signed up to the newsletter, you may have noticed that you haven't received one in a while. That is because we're currently sorting out a new service to send out the newsletters. We can no longer do it on our own server as the American web hosts have rules and regulations about sending out thousands of emails at once (spam protection). So now we have to get a license and a dedicated newsletter server! Oh dear me...

Good things to come though. I'll keep you all posted here and on our Twitter page!

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Us with Lizzie Hopley (the writer) and Phillip Schofield (you know who).

Paul and Debbie signing their very own Jam jars.

Paul and Debbie as The Craddocks.

Anthony, the coffee boy who became a clapper.

Annette looking ridiculous!

Oh dear...

Lizzie seems unimpressed.

I think we were just watching back a funny moment. There were plenty.

Phillip and Annette having fun. Phillip tweeted afterwards: "Great fun, amazing cast"

The set. Most of the SA's are probably off drinking coffee. Tch.

Has something gone wrong?

Me (Adrian) directing Phillip Schofield. Couldn't believe it.

Phillip behind Daphne's Jam Jars.

A little touch up for Mr Schofield. Vic (left) was brilliant.

Phillip as a member of the crowd.

He must have said something funny.

The big Z. A master DoP. And he's not always this serious.

Us posing for a photo with Frank Skinner.

Zoran has something to say...

Frank stood like this with heavy Jam jars for a long time. He really went for it. Great actor.

This was hilarious. Frank just went mad with it.

Jam Monster Frank with Mrs D's Jam.

Frank trying to look suave and serious with Jam all over his face. It didn't work.

A quiet word.

Frank and Annette. Everyone had to hold their laughter.

These two played off each other perfectly.

The vile Mrs Desirandelle beaming. Annette can switch it on and off in an instant.

Going through some shots.

The tasting scene. It looks so different on screen, doesn't it?

Us three behind Daphne's Jam.

Ben showing Lynda Bellingham where the Bee goes... It was lovely to see her again.

Want some?

Another shot of Annette. Another clapper board moment.

Patricia (Daphne) looking menacing.

Patricia's not very happy.

Panoramic shot of the crowd.

The whole mob.

The excellent sound crew at work.

AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
